Mehamood Hosein

Mehamood is a visionary with over 20 years of experience, who has been directly involved in transactions valued at more than 10 Billion.  Of particular interest is the fact that he completed these transactions from varying perspectives; a Division Head within a Fortune 100 company, an Entrepreneur, an Intermediary/Advisor and an Investor/Asset Manager.  This enables him to truly identify with clients.  
Mr. Hosein has routinely been ahead of trends and has developed keen investment instincts.  He has worked in an advisory or agent capacity with Sovereign Nations, Foreign Governments, Investment Groups & Institutions and Ultra High-Net-Worth Individuals and Families throughout the Middle East, India, China and South East Asia -- Forging and strengthening key relationships around the world.  
In his current role as founder and Managing Director of Boston Asia Capital and before that at Boston Harbor Capital, Mr. Hosein:

  • Advised Space City on a $2.5 billion real estate project in Bangalore India consisting of commercial and residential facilities for 54 thousand people and businesses.
  • Structured a leverage buy-out of over 419 fast food restaurants in South East Asia.  Partners included: Development Bank of Singapore, RHB Bank of Malaysia and the  Employee Pension Fund of Malaysia.
  • Structured a $2.5 billion coal gasification company with GE, Inner-Mongolia Government of China and CME Energy as partners.
  • Partnered with the Government of Indonesia to create a Coal to Liquid Energy Joint Venture.
  • Negotiated off-take agreements between China National Petroleum, Sinopec, Dow Chemical China, Samsung, Key Energy of Korea and CITIC.
  • Advised large Malaysian investors in their financing of a $1.2 billion coal power plant.
  • Worked with Middle Eastern sovereign wealth funds and several large US and UK Pension Funds to create structured investment vehicles (Islamic Bonds) which were in compliance with Shariah Law.

An entrepreneur at heart, Mr. Hosein, in early 2000 founded EMT Corp, a desktop media and browser applications company which was featured in the Wall Street Journal and Business Week magazine.  Under his leadership, EMT signed major contracts with clients including the NFL, NASCAR, United talent Agencies, Premier Soccer Leagues in Europe, David Bowie and Muhammed Ali and was well positioned for IPO with Paine Webber/UBS.  Mr. Hosein began his career at EMC, where he headed the Internet Division in late 80s.

Mr. Hosein holds a BA in Electrical Engineering from Wenthworth Institute of Technology, a MA in Computer Science from Boston University and completed an Executive MBA leadership program at EMC in conjunction with the Harvard Business School.

Henry Noel Jr.

Generalist -- Focused on the evaluation and analysis of new opportunities, business plan review and overall investment/portfolio management.  Member of BAC Investment Committee.

Henry describes himself as being passionate about financial markets and has over 15 years of experience evaluating and structuring securities, raising capital, financing business growth and implementing M&A strategies.  His background has included work with domestic and international securities in both traditional and alternative investment classes through varying market conditions.  As a Manager with experience in investment management and strategic corporate consultancy, Henry brings tremendous insight and value to clients ranging from early-stage private ventures to public micro/mid cap companies.
Mr. Noel began his career as a Bond Analyst with TIAA-CREF, a large Asset Management firm. In that capacity he assisted Senior Portfolio Managers in the selection, evaluation and overall management of securities in a Fixed Income portfolio.  He then went on to work with other boutique and top-tier firms such as Nile Capital, MCC Securities and Merrill Lynch & Co.
Mr. Noel has a BA in Business Administration from Atlantic Union College and an MBA from the Zarb School of Business at Hofstra University.  In addition he holds the Series 7, 24, 66 & 79 FINRA licenses.

Narotam Sayal

Narotam Sayal is the founder of Ashita Impex Pvt Ptd, India, one of the largest distributors of timber in India, sourcing from Malaysia, Africa, South America & Russia, and servicing customers through all of the ports in India. Mr. Sayal has over 25 years of experience in international trading and logistics with a large customer base primarily in India. Mr. Sayal graduated from the University of Delhi and started his career with Jokai India Ltd, a British tea company. Mr. Sayal worked at Jokai for nine years before branching out into his own international trading business. Mr. Sayal's expertise is invaluable in dealing with potential customers in South East Asia in all commodities, particularly timber.  Mr. Sayal has strategic partnerships in commodity trades with some of the largest trading firms in the world including Mitsui and Sumitomo.

Abdur-Raheem Mungrue,CFA

Abdur-Raheem Mungrue,CFA has over ten years experience in portfolio management. He was responsible for the investment management of the Caribbean's largest Bank, RBTT Financial Holdings(recently acquired by Royal Bank of Canada). Recently, he was the Head of Portfolio Management at CMMB, a hedge fund with over US$1.0 billion in assets. He has extensive global experience with the responsibility of managing and participating in various investment vehicles in equities, fixed income securities and derivatives over various markets - Developed as well as Emerging Markets.

Abdul Rahman Maidin

ARM Associates Inc is led by Dato’ Seri Abdul Rahman Maidin, a prominent entrepreneur for the last 24 years in investments, infrastructure, media, telecommunication and technology-related industries. He has successfully spearheaded various conglomerates back into their historical growth path. The many companies owned and managed by him includes Malaysian public listed companies - Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB), System Television Malaysia Berhad (TV3), New Straits Times Press (M) Berhad (NSTP), Malakoff Berhad (a power generating company), and Putra Capital Berhad (PCB). Until recently, he was the Executive Chairman of PCB, a public listed company in Malaysia dealing with infrastructure, property development, construction, engineering and services. During his tenure as the President of MRCB, Dato’ Seri Abdul Rahman Maidin transformed the domestically oriented development company into a well-diversified conglomerate focusing primarily on media, infrastructure and power generation sectors.
